ANGOS delegates recently attended the 78th Ordinary Session of the African Commission on Human and Peoples\' Rights (ACHPR) held in Banjul, The Gambia. This important session addressed a range of human rights issues across the African continent.

During the session, ANGOS:
- Delivered oral statements on the human rights situation in the MENA region
- Participated in side events on freedom of expression and the protection of human rights defenders
- Met with commissioners and other civil society organizations to discuss collaborative advocacy strategies
- Submitted documentation to the Commission on specific cases requiring attention

The African Commission\'s final communiqué included several recommendations that align with ANGOS\'s advocacy priorities, particularly regarding the protection of civil society space.

ANGOS will continue to engage with the African Commission and will follow up on these recommendations with relevant national governments.
